FSU shocks No. 4 Florida

Tallahassee, FL (Sports Network) – Al Thornton scored 28 points and pulled
down nine rebounds, and Toney Douglas came up with a huge block in the final
moments to lead Florida State to a 70-66 upset win over fourth-ranked and
defending national champion Florida.

Isaiah Swann posted 11 points for the Seminoles (5-2), who nearly blew a 15-
point lead in the second half.

Taurean Green had 21 points for the Gators (7-2), who nearly pulled out the
win in the final seconds. Walter Hodge tallied 17 points and Joakim Noah had
11 for Florida.

Hodge’s three-pointer brought Florida within 68-66 with 53.2 seconds left.
Douglas then missed a jumper, but came right back by snuffing Green’s long
three-point try in the waning moments.

Thornton was fouled with four seconds left and made both at the line to seal
FSU’s win, as the fans stormed the court.

Florida’s largest lead was just three points, in the opening minute of the
game. The Seminoles scored 10 in a row during the opening half for an 18-10
lead. Ralph Mims’ layup capped the burst.

Florida State was in front 36-31 at the half and the Seminoles upped the
margin to 58-43 on Swann’s three with 8:43 left.
