Knight reaches milestone 876th win

Ruston, LA (Sports Network) – Texas Tech coach Bobby Knight recorded his
milestone 876th victory, as his Red Raiders posted a 66-59 victory over the
Louisiana Tech Bulldogs in a non-league affair from the Thomas Assembly
Center.

Knight is now tied with legendary Kentucky coach Adolph Rupp for the second-
most wins in Division I history and is just three victories away from equaling
the great Dean Smith for the all-time lead.

Knight can pass Rupp in the Red Raiders’ next game, Saturday at home against
Centenary.

Jarrius Jackson paced Texas Tech (7-3) with 21 points, while Martin Zeno had a
solid performance, scoring 18 points to go along with six rebounds and six
assists.

Kyle Gibson was the only player to produce double-figures for Louisiana Tech
(1-6), as the guard posted 14 points in the setback.

Texas Tech held the Bulldogs to a lackluster 38.5 percent shooting effort from
the field in the opening frame to take a 33-27 lead into the break.

In the second stanza, the Red Raiders shot 54.2 percent from the field en
route to the seven-point victory.

Texas Tech posted a 51 percent shooting effort in the contest, while Louisiana
Tech netted 45.1 percent from the field.
