No. 11 Kansas stomps Winston-Salem State

Lawrence, KS (Sports Network) – Julian Wright scored 15 points and grabbed
nine rebounds to help 11th-ranked Kansas trounce Winston-Salem State, 94-43,
at Allen Fieldhouse.

Wright finished 7-of-8 from the field while Brandon Rush also scored 15 points
for the Jayhawks (9-2), who improved to 6-1 at home.

Darrell Arthur ended with 13 points and Mario Chalmers had nine points
and eight assists in the win.

Darius Floyd led all scorers with 17 points and Curtis Hines finished with 10
points for Winston-Salem (1-14), which is now a dreadful 0-10 on the road.

Those were the only two players on the Rams to score in double digits,

Kansas led at halftime 45-21 thanks to a scorching 19-of-33 (57.6 percent)
shooting from the field. Wright was 5-of-6 in that stretch for a game-high 10
points at the break.

Winston-Salem, meanwhile, went just 35 percent from the field in the opening
20 minutes, and finished the game at 34 percent.

Game Notes

This was the first-ever meeting between these two clubs…The Jayhawks have
won eight of their last nine overall…The Rams went just 1-for-9 from the
foul line.
