Knight ties Dean Smith for most wins

Lubbock, TX (Sports Network) – Texas Tech head coach Bob Knight tied the
legendary Dean Smith for most career wins in NCAA Division I history after
notching No. 879 in a 72-60 triumph over Bucknell on Saturday.

Knight now has the chance to set the new record of 880 career wins at home
against UNLV on December 28.

Jarrius Jackson and Martin Zeno each netted 18 points to lead the Red Raiders
(10-3), who have won four straight. Alan Voskuil added 15 points while Darryl
Dora had 14 for the Red Raiders, who shot 52 percent from the field.

John Griffin led Bucknell (5-6) with 16 points and seven rebounds in the loss.
The Bison came into the contest with a three-game winning streak. Donald Brown
had 13 points and six rebounds while Chris McNaughton had 12 in the loss.

Bucknell pulled to within 42-39 in the early stages of the second half, but
then missed its next 13 shots. The Red Raiders then put the game away with a
17-0 run where Jackson netted 10 straight points during the stretch.
