BYU’s Broadus suspended for rest of season

Provo, UT (Sports Network) – BYU senior point guard Rashaun Broadus has been
suspended for the remainder of the season after being arrested this weekend
on suspicion of drunken driving.

“Our basketball program at BYU has expectations of behavior and high standards
that we’ve set for ourselves. Unfortunately, Rashaun Broadus made some
decisions not in keeping with these standards, and I’ve decided to suspend him
for the remainder of the season,” said head basketball coach Dave Rose. “He
will not be playing or practicing with the team. The whole thing is very
unfortunate.”

Broadus started in 11 of 15 games this season, and averaged 6.1 points and 2.2
assists.

Fellow senior Austin Ainge will replace Broadus in the starting lineup.
