Delaware’s Taylor leaves indefinitely; White declared ineligible

Newark, DE (Sports Network) – University of Delaware sophomore Zaire Taylor
has taken a leave of absence for an indefinite period of time while DeSean
White has been dismissed after being declared academically ineligible,
announced men’s basketball coach Monte Ross on Monday.

The 6-4 Taylor from Staten Island, New York has started all 14 games this year
for the Blue Hens and ranks second on the team with 10.3 ppg and 4.9 rpg.

The guard leads Delaware with 23 steals and has converted 45.9 percent of his
field goals.

White, who transferred to Delaware from Providence and La Salle, averaged 5.5
ppg and 2.9 rpg in 29 games with the Friars in 2004-05 and averaged 6.7 ppg in
six games last season before moving to La Salle.
