Brooks leads Oregon past Stanford

Eugene, OR (Sports Network) – Aaron Brooks scored 19 points and grabbed 10
rebounds to lead ninth-ranked Oregon to a 66-59 victory over Stanford at
McArthur Court.

Brooks finished just 4-of-13 from the field but converted all 10 of his free
throws while Tajuan Porter poured in 15 points for the Ducks (17-1, 5-1
Pac-10), who have won four straight since their 84-82 defeat to USC on January

Bryce Taylor added 14 points and Malik Hairston pulled down nine boards for
Oregon, which shot a disappointing 29 percent in the game.

Lawrence Hill netted 13 points and Fred Washington donated 12 points with
eight rebounds for the Cardinal (11-5, 3-3), which had a three-game winning
streak snapped. Robin Lopez contributed 10 points with seven boards in defeat.

Stanford finished 41 percent shooting from the floor.

The Cardinal held a slim 26-25 edge over the Ducks at the break, but failed to
hold onto the lead in the second half.

Brooks scored nine consecutive points late in the second to give the Ducks a
53-51 edge with 5:04 to play and Oregon cruised the rest of the way.

Game Notes

Stanford holds an 83-42 lead in the all-time series with Oregon…The Ducks
shot 32 percent from three-point range while the Cardinal converted 21 percent
from beyond the arc.
