Cougars drop Beavers
Pullman, WA (Sports Network) – Robbie Cowgill scored 18 points and pulled
down 11 rebounds as 20th-ranked Washington State defeated Pac-10 foe Oregon
Kyle Weaver scored 12 points and Ivory Clark chipped in with 11 for the
Cougars (17-3, 6-2 Pac-10), who have win six of their last seven games and
remained perfect at home this season (10-0).
Sasa Cuic scored 17 points while Marcel Jones had 14 for the Beavers (9-12,
1-7), who fell to 0-6 against ranked opponents this season.
The Cougars led 30-23 at the break and Oregon State was able to hang around
for most of the second half. Jones connected on a three-pointer and Josh
Tarver followed with a jumper to bring the Beavers within 62-55 with just over
three minutes left to play. However, that was as close as the Beavers got as
Washington State pulled away for the victory.
Clark ended with 11 points for the Cougars…Despite the loss, Oregon State
owns a 161-112 advantage in the all-time series with Washington State.
