Tigers rout Golden Knights

Orlando, FL (Sports Network) – Chris Douglas-Roberts poured in 23 points as
the 11th-ranked Memphis Tigers clobbered the UCF Golden Knights, 87-65, to
remain perfect in Conference USA action.

Joey Dorsey had 22 points, nine rebounds and five steals for the Tigers (18-3,
8-0 C-USA), who extended their winning streak to 10 games.

Josh Pepper was the only player for the Golden Knights (15-6, 4-3) to score in
double-figures with 20 points, Lavell Payne and Mike O’Donnel each chipped in
with nine points for UCF, which has dropped two of its last three.

Memphis was all over UCF from the start, scoring the first eight points of the
game and eventually taking a 20-9 lead on Kareem Cooper’s layup just under
nine minutes into the first half.

The Golden Knights managed to battle back and were within 29-24 with just over
five minutes remaining before the Tigers closed the first half strong.
Jeremy Hunt and Doneal Mack both hit threes as Memphis rolled off a 13-1 run
and held a 42-27 lead into the locker room.

Peppers’ three to start the second half brought UCF within 12, but the Golden
Knights did not get closer as Memphis won going away.

Game Notes

Hunt finished with 12 points for Memphis…During their current 10-game
winning streak, all but one of the Tigers’ victories came by double figures.
