UMKC fires Zvosec

Kansas City, MO (Sports Network) – The University of Missouri-Kansas City
announced on Tuesday that Rich Zvosec will no longer serve as the head coach
of the men’s basketball team.

The Kangaroos went 12-20 last season under Zvosec, who posted an 84-91 record
in six seasons at the helm.

“In our continuing commitment to a strong and successful athletic program, we
will begin an immediate and deliberate search for the next head coach,” said
UMKC athletics director Tim Hall.

Hall, along with head men’s soccer coach Rick Benben, will oversee the men’s
basketball program.

“Coach Benben, the most senior coach in our Intercollegiate Athletics program,
will ensure continuity in academic resolutions and athletic conditioning,”
added Hall.
