Bowling Green’s Dakich will not return
Bowling Green, OH (Sports Network) – Bowling Green head men’s basketball
coach Dan Dakich will not seek a contract extension to return for the 2007-08
season, announced assistant vice president/director of athletics Greg
Christopher on Tuesday.
Dakich, who completed his 10th season with Bowling Green, finished with a
156-140 record and is tied for third in all-time victories in school history.
He also notched four 18-plus win seasons, which is tied for second all-time
among Falcons coaches.
“Dan’s tenure has seen a number of positives and I thank him for his
dedication to this program,” Christopher said. “Over his 10 years here at
BGSU, Dan has been totally committed to the success of our student-athletes
and Bowling Green men’s basketball.”
In 2000, Dakich guided his team to the MAC title, and in 2002, his club
advanced to the MAC Tournament championship game.
“Being involved with BGSU basketball has been a wonderful part of my life and
I thank the administration, players, coaches and fans for their support during
the last 10 years,” Dakich said.
