Ducks hold off Miami-Ohio

Spokane, WA (Sports Network) – Aaron Brooks scored 18 points, Bryce Taylor
added 14 and Oregon survived a scare to hold off Miamo-Ohio, 58-56, in the
first round of the NCAA Tournament.

Maarty Leunen chipped in with 13 points off the bench for third-seeded Oregon
(27-7), which will face Winthrop on Sunday in the Midwest Regional. The Ducks,
winners of seven straight, haven’t been to the tourney since 2003.

Tim Pollitz scored a game-high 21 points and pulled down five rebounds for the
No. 14 seed RedHawks (18-15), who were the Mid-American Conference champions
this season.

Michael Bramos added 18 points for Miami-Ohio, which was making its third
straight postseason appearance, having earned berths in the National
Invitation Tournament the last two seasons.
