Scott to be named men’s hoops coach at Denver
Denver, CO (Sports Network) – The University of Denver will reportedly name
Joe Scott its new men’s head basketball coach on Wednesday.
According to the Denver Post, Scott, who coached at Princeton for the last two
years, will take over a Denver program which finished 4-25 this past season.
It will be a return to the Rockies for the Princeton graduate. Before his
stint with the Tigers, Scott coached four seasons at Air Force, going 51-63,
but was named Mountain West Conference coach of the year after a 22-7 campaign
in 2004 and an NCAA tournament berth.
The 41-year-old replaces Terry Carroll, who left the university unexpectedly
in December and was fired on March 3. Carroll compiled a 79-99 mark in six
seasons with the Pioneers.
