Radford names Brad Greenberg hoops coach

Radford, VA (Sports Network) – Brad Greenberg was named the new head
basketball coach at Radford on Friday, as the school gave him a five-year

Greenberg had been the associate head coach at Virginia Tech since 2004.
During that time he worked with his brother, Seth Greenberg. the head coach of
the Hokies.

“This is a fabulous opportunity for me,” Brad Greenberg said. “Radford
University basketball has tremendous potential to win championships, gain
prominence in the Big South Conference and compete in postseason tournaments.”

The Highlanders, who finished 8-22 this year, needed a new head coach after
Byron Samuels resigned at the conclusion of the season. Radford lost 10 of its
final 11 games.

Prior to coming to Virginia Tech, Brad Greenberg served as an assistant coach
at Saint Joseph’s and American University. He was also the general manager of
the Philadelphia 76ers, drafting Allen Iverson, the 2001 NBA MVP and 2005 NBA
scoring leader.
