Green’s banker boosts Hoyas past Vandy

East Rutherford, NJ (Sports Network) – Jeff Green’s one-handed jump shot off
the glass with 2.5 seconds left, lifted Georgetown to a 66-65 victory over
Vanderbilt in the East Regional semifinals of the NCAA Tournament.

Green finished with 15 points for the second-seeded Hoyas (29-6), who advanced
to the Elite Eight and will face either top-seeded North Carolina or fifth-
seeded USC on Sunday.

It looked as if Green shuffled his feet before getting the shot off, but there
was no traveling call. Alex Gordon then missed a shot near half-court at the
buzzer for the Commodores.

DaJuan Summers added 15 points while Roy Hibbert had 12 points and 10 rebounds
before fouling out with four minutes left in the contest for the Hoyas.

Dan Cage and Derrick Byars each had 17 points in the loss for the sixth-seeded
Commodores (22-12).
