Georgetown’s Green and Hibbert going pro

Washington, DC (Sports Network) – Georgetown University juniors Jeff Green
and Roy Hibbert will forego their senior seasons and submit their names for
the NBA Draft.

Green, a 6-foot-9, 235-pound forward earned All American honors and was named
Big East Player of the Year after averaging 14.3 points, 6.4 rebounds and 3.2
assists per game last season. Green will leave the Hoyas as the 17th leading
scorer in school history with 1,339 points.

The 7-foot-2, 278-pound Hibbert was named to the All-Big East first team after
averaging 12.9 points per game and leading Georgetown with 6.9 boards per
contest and 90 blocked shots.

“Both young men have worked extremely hard to position themselves for this
opportunity,” Georgetown coach John Thompson III said. “They have begun a
process of information gathering which is necessary for them to make educated

Neither player is expected to retain an agent and may reverse their decisions.
But, both are expected to be lottery picks and a return to school is unlikely.
