Eric Gordon: ‘I was kind of surprised’ by Dunk-In Selection
Despite compiling a nice little highlight reel of dunks during his college days at Indiana, Eric Gordon was taken aback by his selection to participate in the NBA’s inaugural Dunk-In, a competition which will put him head-to-head with DeMar DeRozan for a spot in the Sprite Slam Dunk Contest.
"I was kind of surprised. I’m not really a big-time dunker. I might get one off every other game or something… My family thought I’d be in the 3-point [contest]."
Still, the 6’3" Clippers guard with the bulldog build isn’t underselling himself.
"I’m definitely going to surprise some people…A lot of my teammates and family will have input. I’m going to do something different."
While Eric Gordon has yet to show off his full dunking potential in a game, his teammates have evidently seen him spreading his wings in practice. One Clipper in particular, Baron Davis, has high hopes for Gordon.
"I have seen him in practice. He has something up his sleeves. He’s going to do well."
