HoopsVibe Exclusive with Air Up There

The Dunk Contest hasn’t received the greatest reviews. That’s putting it mildly. Adding to the frustration of fans was the irony of Taurian Fontenette presenting Nate Robinson with the trophy. Not only was there such disappointment in the product the fans were given, there were people in the building capable of giving the people what they wanted.

Fontenette is better known as the Air Up There or Mr. 720 (or the greatest dunker on the planet) and he gave us the time of day in a crowded hallway after All-Star Saturday night. Among the things he talks about are his new clothing line, his thoughts on that night’s Slam Dunk, and the revelation the his participation in the weekend’s Amateur Slam Dunk competition– which he won, of course– would be the last time he dunked competitively. But don’t take my word for it, have a listen for yourself. Sorry in advance about the audio. Like I said, it was a crowded hallway.
