Je'Kel Foster added 13 points and nine rebounds for the Buckeyes (14-2, 4-2 Big Ten), who won for the second consecutive time. Matt Sylvester pitched in with 12 points on 5-of-7 shooting while Jamar Butler had 12 points, five rebounds and four steals in the win.

Jamelle Cornley paced the Nittany Lions (10-6, 2-3), who lost for the second time in three games, with 14 points and eight boards. Geary Claxton chipped in with 13 points and four steals while Travis Parker also had 13 points in the loss.

Ohio State came out of intermission looking to force the issue and put the pressure on the Nittany Lions.

The Buckeyes scored the first six points of the half. Foster got loose for a lay-in, Lewis buried a pair from the charity stripe and Butler capped the mini-run with another layup to give Ohio State control, 38-27, with a little over 18 minutes remaining.

The Buckeyes continued to slowly extend their advantage. Sylvester's bomb from beyond-the-arc gave Ohio State their largest lead, 54-41, with just over 10 minutes to go.

Cornley's layup with one-minute remaining brought Penn State to within seven, 69-62, but that is as close as the Lions would come.

J.J. Sullinger and Butler each hit a pair of free throws in the final minute to make sure there would be no final run by Penn State.

Ohio State took a modest five-point edge into the half, 32-27. Lewis paced the Buckeyes with nine points despite shooting just 3-of-8 from the floor. David Jackson led the Nittany Lions with eight points.

Jackson also reached double figures for Penn State with 12 points...Ohio State dominated the boards with a 38-28 edge...The Buckeyes were 8-of-23 from long range; Penn State was just 3-of-19...Coming into the game Butler was tied for the Big Ten lead with a +3.83 assist-to-turnover ratio.
