On Wednesday, one day after his Warriors were eliminated from the second round of the NBA playoffs, Golden State coach Don Nelson admitted he’s contemplating retirement.

Nelson will let Golden State know by July 1st whether he’ll be back  for a second season.

"It’s not a good time for me to make that decision," the veteran sideline boss said. "I think it was really important that I came here. I’m not so sure it’s important that I stay on."   (CNN)

Nelson led Golden State to a 40-42 record, helping the Warriors qualify for their first playoff birth in 13 years.

Once in the playoffs, his squad pulled off a historic upset, defeating the league-leading Dallas Mavericks in six games. Their win was the first time a #8 seed defeated a #1 seed in a best of seven series.
