Following Washington's win over Cleveland, Stevenson had an interesting opinion on superstar LeBron James ... Following Washington’s recent win over Cleveland, Stevenson had an interesting opinion on superstar LeBron James.

"He's overrated," DeShawn told Mike (Mike Lee, Washington Post insider). "And you can say I said that."

I appreciate Stevenson’s courage; calling out The King takes guts and the “you can say I said that” line is a sure-fire way to create front page headlines.

The Wiz’s lockdown wing is playing head games. Clearly, Stevenson is anticipating a playoff duel with the Cavaliers, so he’s attempting to gain an edge by motivating himself and teammates.

Washington could give Cleveland trouble in a seven game series. Although the Wizards have had an inconsistent season, they possess the feel-good chemistry, defense, and athleticism to push the one-dimensional Cavaliers.

Hard-as-nails All-Star Caron Butler is also returning from injuries; Antawn Jamison is an underrated franchise guy. Of course, the X-factor is Gilbert Arenas. Will The Hibachi’s comeback throw off a grittier Washington team? Time will tell.

There is, however, a flip side to this argument. A few months back, Chris Bosh’s girlfriend made the mistake of trash-talking LeBron James from the sideline of the Air Canada Centre after he missed a dunk.


A colossal error by CB4’s better half. James suddenly awoke from a game-long slumber to score 24 points in the fourth quarter, helping the Cavaliers to a come-from-behind 99-82 win.

I think Stevenson should consider what Toronto’s superstar told his girlfriend post-game …

"She's free to do what she wants," Bosh said of his No. 1 fan. "But I said, 'Don't talk to LeBron any more.”

Chances are Stevenson’s risky comments will have on-court repercussions. And, as always, watching things unfold between Washington and Cleveland will be interesting.

deshawn is a valuable player actually, if u have watched the wiz games Not a lebron fan ud see that, he shuts down opposing teams scorers half the time. and when hes not doing that hes scoring 25 pts on them. he plays team concept basketball and makes his team better by playing d and trash talkingthe other teams best player and pisses him off, Cavs LOST and wiz WON. who cares who said what.

why do u guys all take it like DS just said "he sucks". He said hes' overrated. meaning he gets to much attention for the shit he does. it's like when u say kobe is better then jordan. That's when kobe is overrated. Lebron is defintely overrated. he plays in the east. the cavs would be a 10th seed in the west. there goes his mvp chances. everything comes easier. go to nba(dot)com and check it out urself look at hsi stats against he west and look at them against the east. everyoen says lebron is mvp. just look at it this way.... put the cavs in the west. they'd have less wins. At the age of 23 alone, Duncan's overall efficiency, scoring 24 points, almost 14 rebounds, 4 assist, 3 blocks, 1 steal, 50% from the field per game, have been an ALL STAR MVP, SECOND IN A CONTROVERSIAL MVP VOTING, FINALS MVP, TOP THREE LEADING VOTE GETTERS IN DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR, FIRST ALL NBA TEAM, FIRST ALL DEFENSIVE TEAM, has been an Olympian, College Player of the Year, ACC player of the year, led the SPURS IN THE BEST RECORD IN THE NBA, and WON A DAMN CHAMPIONSHIP WITHOUT MANU OR PARKER. HE WAS 23 YEARS OLD. Then you talk as if Lebron is better at 23 than Duncan. That is BS, I cannot stand how you uniformed fans keep overrating him. Lebron's win percentages, overall efficiency, defense, and even offense is inferior to Duncan, knowing for the fact that unlike MJ or Larry, Lebron never average above 50% from the field, its alwasy been low 40 or mid 40%. Meaning he misses more shots than he makes. Plus he got lucky when he made it to the FInals, knowing that the East is really weak, and had he played in the West, he would have gotten bitch slap. Just look what kind of killing did the Spurs did to arrogant Lebron. Now, the Cavs would be 9 or 10 in the nba standings in the west if they were there, meaning they will miss the playoffs. Deshawn Stevenson's big mouth got that @$$ spanked!!!!! I think the Wizards organization has overrated Deshawn Stevenson! What lockdown D? What shooter?He should be thankful for a roster spot in the NBA!!!!! I know some D-League players with better lockdown D and who are better shooters!!!! Matter of fact I know a couple of cats at the playground that could take his spot and they talk trash a whole lot better than he does! I think he said what he said to get some attention and possible earn some extra cashflow or something. But the attention he brought on his self has been negative! He was unable to walk the walk in front of millions of people. That's so sad because now everyone has seen how overrated his D is and how overrated his jumpshot is! I just can't feel my face anymore!!!!!!!
