High School Days: Dwight Howard versus Amare StoudemireThe Very Quick AM Take: Dwight Howard and Amare Stoudemire dominate ESPN highlight reels like a pop star dominates gossip rags. Simply put, these posts are the future, controlling the air, backboards, and opponents with their illegal athleticism.

Howard, a former number one pick, has developed into the NBA’s best five-man. His numbers are ridiculous: 21 points, 14 rebounds, and 2 blocks per contest. And his pearly whites are now the face of the Magic franchise.

Stoudemire, a mid-first rounder, has overcome knee surgeries and a tough upbringing to redefine the power forward position. His offensive explosions (STAT is averaging 25 points and 9 rebounds on the season) are something to behold.

These two have something else in common: they both skipped high school and went straight to The League. No college run. No Dick Vitale screaming diaper-dandy on ABC. Overnight, they went from boys (with freakish athleticism) to men.

Still, reflecting on their prep days is fun. As always, watch the clips, form an opinion and give us your impressions of Howard and Stoudemire’s high school careers.
