Why Phoenix’s Steve Nash is the NBA’s funniest player

Why Phoenix's Steve Nash is the NBA's funniest playerI often think NBA stars take themselves too seriously. The third-person references, twenty-deep entourages, and indulgent talk of self-branding are too much.

I understand it, though. And I don’t blame the athletes, either. With so much money on the table, today’s players have to be schooled in the business of basketball. LeBron James is the perfect example, trademarking his ‘King James’ logo in the tenth grade.

In this money-driven climate, I appreciate athletes who respect the game and possess a sense of humour. Steve Nash is a great example. He competes each night. And has no issue laughing at his own star persona.

Check out the two-time MVP mocking celebrity spokesmen, photo shoots, and training sessions in these videos. Thanks to yahoo’s ball don’t lie (a great blog) for originally finding these sketches.
