Wilt Chamberlain banged 20,000 women? No way!

Somewhere in late February 2010, I came across something usual in my email. I just had to look at this. So I did. Needless to say, I was not surprised at the piece. When I was in my early teens hearing about this, I wonder how does he do it? The man is a legend. The man became more of a myth. During the early 1990s, I thought, “Wow! What a player! The ladies must flock to him like a moth to a flame.” I was naïve. At the time, I didn’t factor in stamina. Fast forward to today, I thought, “How is that even possible for one man? Seriously. That can’t be possible especially on game days.”

The 20,000 women thing had to be a tall tale. And no, we’re not talking about how tall Wilt is. Rest in Peace Wilt Chamberlain, but this “having endless orgies” thing had to be as false as a Photoshop. A superstar athlete can sleep with almost any woman. Ask Tiger Woods. Or they can be as bad as they want to be. Just ask Ben Roethlisberger. Whatever the case is, how can any man possibly sleep with 20,000 women? And what type of guy would actually keep track of the count if he actually did? I personally would not if I had the chance.

Ask yourself this: Why would a superstar like Wilt make up something like this? Was it truly an ego thing? Was he getting worked up over rejections that he had to lie to himself to maintain his self esteem? I truly believe it was the latter. Did he sleep with 20,000? I don’t think so, but he did bang many women. Just not 20,000 as he led us to believe.

The myth came from Wilt himself in the 1990 book, “A View From Above.” Former Los Angeles Herald - Examiner Lakers beat writer Doug Krikorian came in from below to claim otherwise found here www.sportsbybrooks.com/ex-lakers-reporter-wilt-20000-claim-was-farcical-27909

“Complete hyperbole. Trust me. I spent many a Saturday night where Wilt would call me and say, ‘Let’s go out and have dinner together.’ He was the worst guy I’ve ever seen trying to hustle women. I’m serious. That thing should be debunked. Trust me. I saw firsthand. Yes, he might have had his share of women, but as a slick hustler, please. No. I saw too many nights where he was alone. I was with him.
“There were nights he’d call me up. I was like his valet at times. I’m sure he had hookers come up to his room and stuff like that. He scored on some women, but as a regular Lothario? I know bartenders that scored way more than Wilt. Please. He was playing basketball. How could a real guy be a Lothario? What did he say, 20,000? It’s ridiculous. It’s farcical. Why would he even claim that?”

I knew it. The whole thing is a bunch of shenanigans. If I had that many women, I would die with a smile and destroyed libido. Let’s say that Wilt did sleep with that many. I would not brag about my off court accomplishments. If any company made an Xbox 360 game starring Wilt then one of the achievements to unlock is to bang 20,000 women. About half of those women should have been pregnant. Chamberlain preferred white women although I wouldn’t be surprised if there were Black, Asian, and Latino sprinkled somewhere. Generations multiply, right? Wouldn’t Chamberlain’s DNA be a part of us somewhere? With so many questions, did I write this already?

At least he didn’t suffer the same fate as Shawn Kemp. Wait, he probably did, but none of those women said anything.

But before he left this Earth, he left by saying this: "With all of you men out there who think that having a thousand different ladies is pretty cool, I have learned in my life I've found out that having one woman a thousand different times is much more satisfying."

Is scoring 100 points in an NBA game is a better accomplishment than scoring meaningless sex?
