SAITAMA (FIBA World Championship) - European champions Greece and the United States will face off for the right to play for the 2006 FIBA World Championship title after both teams comfortably won their quarter-finals showdowns.
Five players scored in double figures as Greece walloped France 73-56 in Wednesday’s first quarter-final at the Saitama Super Arena.
In the night-cap, Team USA used a 16-2 third quarter run to put away Germany 85-65, holding Dirk Nowitzki to 15 points on three of 12 shooting.
The Greece-United States winner from Friday will play in Sunday’s final against the victor from the other semi-final between Spain and Argentina.
Germany play against France on Thursday in the classification round while Turkey take on Lithuania.
