Designed to be the lightest and most flexible of all the Jordan shoes, the Jordan XIX is modeled after the mamba, the quickest and deadliest snake on the planet. A powerful magnetic heel strapping system, speed lacing toggle, and innovative flex material combine to create a first rate performance that is perhaps the greatest tribute to Michael Jordan's career. Air Jordan Retro IV

- The Jordan IV was retroed 1999 in white/black and black/cement grey. Stores sold out after a few hours and demand was high; a complete change from the retro versions of Jordan I, Jordan II, and Jordan III. At the same time, Nike/Jordan realized an opportunity to create more sales by releasing Retro+ models with a similar design but different colors or very small design changes. These Retro+ models sold fairly although reactions to them are mixed.

The Air Jordan XVIII represents a physical good that aims to satisfy the consumer on every level. The Air Jordan brand is known for providing athletes with innovative design schemes, durability and an overall look that sets it apart from everyone.
Putting the shoe on, gives consumers a whole new feel, as added technologies have made this one innovative product. Located inside of the AJ XVIII is the newest addition, the Jordan Carbon Comfort Control Plate. It is bonded to the underside of the shoe's sockliner and is made of carbon fiber. This new innovation by Air Jordan line is a technology that is found in B2 Stealth Bombers, which is extremely strong for its weight. The Control Plate helps to distribute impact forces across the entire surface of the heel and provides an added measure of stability.
The shoe all features an integrated lace cover, which hides the traditional laces. The metallic mesh that lines the top of the tongue allows heat and moisture to escape through the surface of the tongue. Another addition is the metallic discs at the top of the tongue and lace cover, which serve as magnets that help to keep the lace cover in place.
Another unique innovation is the venting system that is presented along the ankles of each shoe. The vents represent one of the many automobile inspired elements designed in the XVIII. The vents ankles are lined with a fine metallic mesh, under which lies an iridescent material with a number of holes to allow heat and moisture to escape. The same lining that can be found on the tongue of the shoe. Staying on the subject of its automotive inspirations, the AJ XVIII provides a good look at the upward wrap of the outsole at the heel. This design element is inspired by auto racing shoes, proving that it can withstand conditions equivalent to a NASCAR driver. The strip of blue material that runs along the base of the shoe roughly delineates the thickness of its midsole. Although it might appear thick, the XVIII provides very good court feel, particularly at the forefoot where it matters most.
As mentioned before the AJ XVIII provides a great deal of traction for any player on or off court. The much noted wavy pattern can be compared to those tread patters of car tires. This addition adds increased traction in any environment. Also worth mentioning is the AJ XVIII overall look. It's square front is a design that Michael Jordan requested himself, as he wanted to combine a great basketball shoe with a nice dress look. It's square front, suede finish and outsole stitching are all elements that can be found on many high for a pair of sneaks means it's not for the court. I recommend the shoe to any collector or any casual MJ buyer, it's a good buy that comes with a few good accesories.
