Lamar Odom Booed By Fans, Supported By Kobe
The former Laker was booed in Dallas Wednesday night against his old team.
It’s been a rollercoaster ride for Lamar Odom ever since the NBA’s lockout ended this past fall. Not only has he been married to a high-profile reality star, but in the middle of making a TV show and trying to play basketball, he found himself in the middle of the trading block; a block that landed him in Dallas after demanding a removal from the Lakers after his feelings were hurt in being put on the block in the first place. Trust me, it’s as confusing as it sounds.
To make matters worse, Odom’s play has been beyond unspectacular this season.
The perennial near-All-Star caliber forward has only averaged seven points a game and four rebounds while with the Mavericks. Not to mention the fact that the Lakers have appeared to have suffered in his absence as well, going 29-18 so far this year.
When the Lakers visited Dallas on Wednesday, the fans in the stands let the reality star hear it.
Odom drew boos most of the night, but the negativity from the stands hit a peak when he bricked a free throw in the second quarter.
“That’s just stupidity,” said a defensive Kobe Bryant to ESPN Dallas after the Lakers’ 109-93 victory over the Mavericks.
Odom’s reality starlet wifey also tweeted “Positive energy goes a long way. … This crowd needs to figure out who they are rooting for! Let’s go Mavs!!!!”
Odom only had one point and one rebound in the contest.
