Royce White Threw Candleholder At Ex-Girlfriend, Hit Mirror Instead
New details have emerged regarding the claims of domestic violence against Philadelphia 76ers forward Royce White.
HoopsVibe Very Quick Call: White just can't stay out of the headlines.
Just over a week ago, White's ex-girlfriend Tania Mehra filed a police report and accused him of domestic violence. The cause? According to Mehra, White allegedly tried to hook up with one of her girlfriends once they broke up.
Law enforcement records reportedly reveal that an unspecified individual had called police in June, claiming that Mehra had suffered a “laceration” above her right eye, TMZ reports. Mehra initially told police that she received the eye injury after an “accidental fall.” Photos of Mehra's eye injury can be viewed here. Mehra, his former girlfriend, was named Miss India USA in 2011. She has appeared on Maxim.com and VH1.
However, Mehra has since changed her story, telling local police last week that she lied during her initial contact with police, TMZ reports. Mehra now claims that White was responsible for her injury. “The victim said she had lied earlier because the suspect played for the NBA and did not want the incident to damage his career,” police involved in the White investigation told TMZ.
"The victim stated that White had assaulted her after she became angered by his advances toward her friend,” police told TMZ.
It's been a wild offseason for White, whose off court exploits read like a reality show. A week ago, we reported that White loves Mexican strippers and sex tapes and now this.
For a guy who didn't even appear in an NBA game during his rookie season, a lot of people know his name.
