Draft Outlook: Jerryd Bayless

June 24 08
This is a special feature from guest blogger Christopher Sells.

By now, you’ve heard enough about Derrick Rose and Michael Beasley to make you feel like you’ve been watching them for a long time. If you’ve missed out, check here for John Nguyen’s piece on who should go one and who should go two. We’ll be shining some light on some of the draft’s other notable names in the next couple of days.

Jerryd Bayless 6’2" 204 PG Arizona
07-08 Stats: 19.7 ppg, 4 apg, 2.7 rpg, 3 TO

Bayless has great athleticism and is a top notch scorer. The problem is his height, which has many questioning whether he can successfully make the switch from college scorer to NBA point guard. He has been compared to Gilbert Arenas and Jay Williams. Nice company, but a lot to live up to, especially considering that these two guys often slide over to the two. None of this seems to have hurt his stock much, as he is expected to be taken between the fourth and seventh picks.
