Gamblin’ Chuck

June 20 08
This is a special feature by guest blogger Christopher Sells.

Barkley claimed he was done gambling, at least for a couple of years. Well, he’s at it again.

In all fairness, it is just poker. And it’s for charity. And the $5000 buy in is paid up front, so hopefully he won’t have to worry about forgetting to pay off any losses that he might incur. Jason Kidd has even vouched for Barkley.

"We were at a casino and [Barkley] said he was on the wagon. He’s strong. He didn’t gamble. I think Charles, once he decides not to do something, I think he’s pretty good at keeping his word."

Here’s hoping this event is televised. Who doesn’t want to see Barkley, possibly a little sauced, letting it ride with nothing good in his hand? That’ll be quality viewing there.
