Jamaal Magloire Set to Join Portland Trailblazers

July 30 06
The Bucks finally seem to be on their way to freeing up the centre spot for Andrew Bogut, with recent reports suggesting that Jamaal Magloire is on his way to the Pacific Northwest.

According to sources familiar with the discussions, the Blazers will acquire former All-Star center Jamaal Magloire from the Milwaukee Bucks for point guard Steve Blake and reserve centers Brian Skinner and Ha Seung Jin.

The deal, which would come on the heels of the Blazers making six trades at last month’s NBA draft, could be completed as early as Monday, the sources said.

The point has been made elsewhere, but this causes something of a logjam at the five for Portland, who already have Joel Przybilla (just re-upped) and LaMarcus Aldridge (acquired on draft night) on the books.

Does this mean another trade’s on the way? Well, things are going to be a little awkward without one, and with Darius Miles also looking to get out of town, some believe the two will be packaged together in an attempt to lure a big name out to Oregon.

Alternatively, Aldridge could be the odd man out, giving Portland a big ball of potential to offer. There aren’t too many teams out there who wouldn’t be interested in a long, athletic prospect with a minimal salary, so the potential moves are too many to detail here. Still, if you have any thoughts as to how things will turn out, let us know by posting in the comment box below or emailing me at CY.Ellis@HoopsVibe.com.- CYE
