LeBron James Nullifies Rasheed Wallace’s Guarantee

May 15 06
Having run his sizeable mouth in front of the nation’s media barely twenty-four hours ago, Rasheed Wallace now has egg on his face following the Detroit Pistons’ loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers. For those of you who weren’t within earshot (his big talk was said to be audible as far west as Kansas), ’Sheed offered a pretty unequivocal guarantee of success in game four. Peep the highlights of yesterday’s diatribe.“I know we’re going to win it. We’re going to bust their ass. Tomorrow night is the last game here in this building for this year. “Y’all can quote me, put it back page, front page, whatever. They can send whoever they want to send. I know the crew I think they’re going to send. But it don’t matter. I know we can do it, and they know we can do it. We know what we’ve got to do.”Oh, how the haters will laugh. Although you can probably tell that I’m enjoying this, it’s not because I harbour any particular resentment towards Rasheed and his antics. On the contrary, I admire the man for his bravado in repeatedly guaranteeing victory, trashing his opponents, and generally talking smack when others would keep their mouths shut. Still, I can’t help but find it a little amusing when someone as gully as ’Sheed directly calls a team out in the press, only to stink more than his favourite herbal remedy. His contribution of ten misses in thirteen attempts was a major factor in Detroit’s thirty-three-percent shooting, which itself was undoubtedly the main cause of their defeat. Now, having dropped two on the trot, Detroit are tied with LeBron and pals, who may well smell blood and carry their momentum into game five. Few expect Cleveland to knock the MoTown Mob out of the postseason, but if the Cavs can steal another game and force the series to seven, they’ll be making life a whole lot easier for the Heat, the Pistons’ likely opponent in the conference finals. The saying "Once bitten, twice shy" apparently doesn’t mean much to Rasheed, however. Despite coming up short on his promise to take tonight’s game, he was willing to tempt fate again in the post-game interview."I ain’t worried about these cats. There’s no way in hell they beat us in a series. They played well. I give them credit. We lost. We shot thirty percent, and they had to play their best to beat us."There’s a reason this guy’s so popular.

I ve got more to say. How do u call a shooting foul when a player traveled b4 the shot. This is rediculous. Am i the only one that saw it? Why does lebron get the extra steps? In the wizards vs cavs playoff 2 yrs ago i watched the game 7 decided by something strange. Wizards ahead by 1 pt. 3.1 or somethin close to that left on the clock. They inbound to lebron. He fakes left. Then right. Then dribbles baseline finds a lane n scores from a foot away. I taped the game. Rewound 10 times. They gave him 3 or 4 secs. B4 they even started the clock. Cavs won n moved on. I cant take anymore. I felt so badly 4 the wizards. They were robbed. So now my eyes are open. Wide open. This is what i think. Big sponsors pay millions. Nba n media dubbed him the king. Fans want a glory boy. 3 yrs he cant get cavs past 2nd round of playoffs. 4th yr they figure how does this look. Wade gets championship within 3. Anthony leads league in scoreing for most of year in 4. Same draft. Lebron s not what we hyped. Ratings down. Well fixit .

The officials decided the series. Seriously in favor of the cavs. What a joke 4 of 18 in 2nd qtr n they stil scored 21. 15 to 5 cavs in foul department early in 2nd qtr. Think they kept cavs in a 1 pt. Game. They took the last thing i enjoy away. My basketball. I m not even a detroit fan. Barkely was rite. Tnt nba n espn would much rather have lebron n cavs in the final. Well they proved it. Should i thank stern for the officiating. They seemed deadset on giving cavs the advantage. Rasheed is rite. That charge call was b.s.. He spun opposite direction. Can u say flop. Verajo for best actor in a series. I m disgusted. Is there a lebron rule in nba? Lets nickname him bailbond lebron. Officials always bail him out. Its sad for me to watch. Yea he s good. But what of the sport. What of fairness. What of ethic s. Now i cant even watch the final. Take my love away from me with your corruption. Take it all away. This isnt the bush administration is it. Do we change the rules for 1 guy? 1 team? U gotta b kiddin me. W .
