Michael Jordan won’t feel ’The Urge’, Charlotte Bobcats will improve in 2008-09

September 11 08

Last season, he must have felt ‘The Urge’ to return. After all, watching Charlotte struggle on-and-off must have been difficult.

And satisfying ‘The Urge’ would’ve been easy. He’d make room on the active roster by releasing a washed-up ‘vet’, annex #23 from Jason Richardson, and tell then coach/puppet Sam Vincent to give him 30 minutes of run and 15 shots minimum.

Done.

Unfortunately, this isn’t Washington. Mike knew short-term solutions wouldn’t have fixed the Bobcats’ miserable record or created long-term interest in Charlotte.

So he’ll obviously stay retired in the executive suite. Still, here’s why the Bobcats will improve next season:

1) Patience is a virtue. Charlotte resisted the urge to trade young assets and start over. These players will progress in 2008-09 because

2) … Larry Brown is ready to teach. Forget his nomadic, looking for the next gig tendencies. Brown can coach, especially young players in need of guidance. He’ll push everyone –including management and ownership.

3) Rick Bonnell, with the Charlotte Observer, reported that most players are participating in voluntary workouts, which means the Bobcats are no longer fat cats. At times, some players last year looked too comfortable with their contract. This won’t be an issue in 2008-09.

4) No more controversy about Emeka Okafor’s extension. The stopper is back with a 6-year, 72 million dollar contract in hand. Look for Okafor to average 15 points and 11 rebounds next season.

If these things fall into place, Jordan won’t feel ‘The Urge’. And, after years of disappointment, Charlotte could finally push for a playoff spot.

Bobcats will be this years 8th seed the east is terrible towards the bottom and they have as much of a chance as any to sneak in. Forget Jordan he will not screw this one up like in washington or he will never see another job in the nba again .

Wow Mr. Sandpaper. You’re starting to get rough around the edges. I think I am finally getting under your skin. I like your new nickname, you should legally change it to that like Chad Johnson did his. I am going to continue to be outspoken because I’m always right, whether you like it or not. Go drink a watered down Canadian beer and relax. Till next time, Luv YISI! .

We’re going deep in the playoffs this year. Every band new team needs time to build. Look at the Charlotte Panthers, the Hornets, etc... Remember I said this, cuz I can hear you laughing right now .

If Jordan is running this team, they’re gonna tank. Charlotte would be better just putting him on the court and let him embra-------himself in front of an actual sold out crowd at home. The Carolina area is college b-ball territory period. Who cares about the bobcats, not even Bob Johnson who owns the team gives a damn. H(OLY) Crap are you trying to be diverse since whiners have complained about writing on certain teams. The Bobcats, LOL! .
