Round 4: Soulja Boy Feels ’Disrespected’ By LeBron James, Supports DeShawn Stevenson & Wizards

April 19 08

Hit the rewind button and you’ll remember last month Cleveland superstar LeBron James and Washington two-guard DeShawn Stevenson exchanged insults like feuding guests on the Jerry Springer show.

But their beef was real and personal. Thankfully, nobody had to step between these two like Steve, Springer’s faithful and diligent security man.

Their rivalry isn’t done. Not by a long shot. For the last month, hoop heads have schemed on a Cavs-Wizards playoff duel. Well, we got our wish.

Today, Cleveland and Washington will meet in the first round of the post-season. All the usual suspects are talking. Gilbert Arenas has done damage by blog. James has answered all media requests. And fans have discussed a WWE cage match in chat rooms and around cubicles at work.

Through all the drama, one very important individual stayed silent. Until now. Today, rapper Soulja Boy talked to Branson Wright of the Cleveland Plains Dealer and told the reporter he felt slighted by James’ comments.

"Someone from Interscope Records called me and sent me the quote," Way said. "I looked and didn’t really think much about it. LeBron said something like he was Jay-Z and DeShawn [Stevenson] is Soulja Boy. I took that as [disrespectful]."

Remember, this mess started when Stevenson told Washington Post Insiders Ivan Carter and Michael Lee that James was “overrated”.

The King intentionally had no response, mentioning, “With DeShawn Stevenson, it’s kind of funny. It’s almost like Jay-Z [responding to a negative comment] made by Soulja Boy. It doesn’t make sense to respond."

Jay-Z is a legendary hip-hop artist, while Soulja Boy is perceived as a fad rapper. One hit wonder or not, Soulja Boy will attend the games in Washington, adding to an already entertaining series. Best of all, these teams haven’t played a single game yet.

It is pretty disrespectful for Lebron t consider that Souljah Boy is inferior to Jay-Z. Lebron James is just too cockey and arrogant and full of himself. I hope the Cavs end up losing the series so Lebron can finally come back to earth, coz he’s ego has already reached the clouds. .
