Round Three: Analyzing DeShawn Stevenson’s Latest Crack On LeBron JamesMarch 20 08  My Quick Take: Somewhere, boxing godfather Don King and wrestling promoter Vince McMahon are smiling. After all, DeShawn Stevenson and LeBron James have traded quips like prize fighters or WWE characters before a big match. For those living under a rock, Stevenson called James “overrated” after Thursday’s Wizards-Cavaliers game. On Monday, The King went hip-hop with his response, comparing his situation with Stevenson to Jay-Z beefing with Soulja Boy. Well, round three hit today. Stevenson came back hard to Washington Post insiders Michael Lee and Ivan Carter: "I hope we play Cleveland," Stevenson said. "I’m going to get Soulja Boy courtside seats and have him wear a DeShawn Stevenson jersey. Maybe (James) can have Jay-Z there since LeBron’s all on his (shorts) anyway."
Stevenson wasn’t done.
"And tell LeBron to cut that beard off and stop copying me."
These two have personal issues. Lee and Carter reported on their blog that James recently bad-mouthed Stevenson to former teammate Drew Gooden. Of course, Gooden ran James’ comments back to Stevenson, which probably contributed to the post getting traded from Cleveland to Chicago at the deadline.
Hopefully, the Wizards and Cavaliers meet in the playoffs because bad blood makes for entertaining basketball. Like I said, King and McMahon must be smiling. on 03.26.2008 | Kobe will average 45 points, 9 rebounds, and 9 assist with the Cavs. Duncan will average 32 points, 20 rebounds, 7 assist, 6 blocks, and 3 steals with the Cavs. Garnett will average 32 points, 15 rebounds, 9 assist, and 3 blocks with the Cavs. Even Steven Nash will average 30 points even he played for the Cavs. Lebron James is a ball hog, he works for stats, he wants the ball so he can get his points and assist and shoot below 50%, since he always missess more shots than he makes. on 03.26.2008 | You are an uniformed fan. Its not all about looking at the stats, its about showing leadership and winning big games. Lebron’s team would be number 10 in the superior west, meaning his team would not make the playoffs. He had an easy time passing the Eastern Conference Finals because the team is so weak that by the time he played the Spurs in the Finals, he was annihilated. All Lebron fans can say is stats, stats, and did i mention stats? Stevenson can say what he wants whether you liek it or not. I mean even before coming to the NBA, Nike already signed him to a huge contract, plus the media began calling him "the king" or "the savior" when he has not even step a foot in the NBA. The fans understood how overrated he is that is why he wasnt voted in his first NBA All Star. At 23, Magic is by far better than him, yet he was not as quite arrogant like Lebron. I have noticed when I read posts from people who love Lebron, they act much like him, conceited, self denial, and spoiled. And they begin to use slurs or any level of poor vocabulary to worship Lebron’s status and consider others inferior. If you ask me who is better in the last 5 years of his NBA career, I’d say Kobe, Duncan, Garnett, Wade, Nowitzki, and Nash. After all, it is all about winning, not who can have the most highlight dunks. What we should look for here is the wins you get against the best teams, and the accomplishments of your team against stiff competition. Lebron has only been good because of weak competition in the East. All Stevenson said is speak the truth and most of America agrees he is tremendously overhyped by the standards and quality of his accomplishments.
