Round Three: Analyzing DeShawn Stevenson’s Latest Crack On LeBron JamesMarch 20 08 My Quick Take: Somewhere, boxing godfather Don King and wrestling promoter Vince McMahon are smiling. After all, DeShawn Stevenson and LeBron James have traded quips like prize fighters or WWE characters before a big match. For those living under a rock, Stevenson called James “overrated” after Thursday’s Wizards-Cavaliers game. On Monday, The King went hip-hop with his response, comparing his situation with Stevenson to Jay-Z beefing with Soulja Boy. Well, round three hit today. Stevenson came back hard to Washington Post insiders Michael Lee and Ivan Carter: "I hope we play Cleveland," Stevenson said. "I’m going to get Soulja Boy courtside seats and have him wear a DeShawn Stevenson jersey. Maybe (James) can have Jay-Z there since LeBron’s all on his (shorts) anyway." Stevenson wasn’t done.
"And tell LeBron to cut that beard off and stop copying me."
These two have personal issues. Lee and Carter reported on their blog that James recently bad-mouthed Stevenson to former teammate Drew Gooden. Of course, Gooden ran James’ comments back to Stevenson, which probably contributed to the post getting traded from Cleveland to Chicago at the deadline.
Hopefully, the Wizards and Cavaliers meet in the playoffs because bad blood makes for entertaining basketball. Like I said, King and McMahon must be smiling. Posted by on 04.26.2009 | NBA stars have a dominant shelf life of 10 years. History shows it. James started sooner and will burn out equally sooner. Clock’s running. Next "star" is coming. . | Posted by CHRIS on 05.1.2008 | Y YAL HATIN 4...LEBRON IS LAUGHIN AT ALL U HATERS..I AINT NO SUCK UP BUT THERE IS NO COMPARISON ON STEPHENSON N LEBRON...LEBRON DUUHH...IF JAY CAME N BACKED HIM UP WAT WULD YAL SAY DEM????(CRICKETS CHIRPING..) . | Posted by Lebron defender on 04.28.2008 | What a bunch of bitter people. Stevenson could leave the NBA and wouldn’t be missed. Lebron is one of the best in the league right now and will go down as one of the best of all time. Easily one of the best. One of you Lebron haters should actually watch one of his games sometime. He often looks like he is playing against a bunch of kids . | Posted by Albert Einstein on 04.2.2008 | you don’t have to be a brain surgeon or a rocket scientist to figure out that Lebron is overrated. I am neither one, but i did stay at the Holiday Inn last night. . | Posted by on 04.2.2008 | Lebron is not overrated? Why don’t you say more? That is what"s wrong with Lebron fans, they can’t back it up with facts. LEBRON IS AN OVERRATED PLAYER, PERIOD. JUST ASK OLY SANDOR. . | Posted by on 03.31.2008 | LeBron is not overrated DeShawn is overrated . | Posted by Sunbeam on 03.26.2008 | Kobe will average 45 points, 9 rebounds, and 9 assist with the Cavs. Duncan will average 32 points, 20 rebounds, 7 assist, 6 blocks, and 3 steals with the Cavs. Garnett will average 32 points, 15 rebounds, 9 assist, and 3 blocks with the Cavs. Even Steven Nash will average 30 points even he played for the Cavs. Lebron James is a ball hog, he works for stats, he wants the ball so he can get his points and assist and shoot below 50%, since he always missess more shots than he makes. Just ask Larry Hughes why he wanted the trade, its all because Lebron wants to run the team so he can make his stats at the expense of failing to nurture Cleveland’s TEAM CHEMISTRY. . | Posted by GHZ on 03.26.2008 | You are an uniformed fan. Its not all about looking at the stats, its about showing leadership and winning big games. Lebron’s team would be number 10 in the superior west, meaning his team would not make the playoffs. He had an easy time passing the Eastern Conference Finals because the team is so weak that by the time he played the Spurs in the Finals, he was annihilated. All Lebron fans can say is stats, stats, and did i mention stats? Stevenson can say what he wants whether you liek it or not. Lebron is overrated by the media and fans because all theyc are about is either publicty or self satisfying reasons. Lebron is selfish, egomaniac, and represent fans like some people here who all they think about is personal accolades. That not only makes Lebron overrated, that makes him below a model athelete. . | Posted by on 03.26.2008 | LEBRON IS NOT OVERRATEDDESHAWN SHOULDNT EVEN BE MAKIN COMMENTS ABOUT LEBRON.JUST LOOK AT THE STATS AND COMPAREKOBE BRYANT FOR MVP . | Posted by Lisnky on 03.25.2008 | Lebron James is overrated. He gets too much hype and publicity. I mean even before coming to the NBA, Nike already signed him to a huge contract, plus the media began calling him "the king" or "the savior" when he has not even step a foot in the NBA. The fans understood how overrated he is that is why he wasnt voted in his first NBA All Star. At 23, Magic is by far better than him, yet he was not as quite arrogant like Lebron. I have noticed when I read posts from people who love Lebron, they act much like him, conceited, self denial, and spoiled. And they begin to use slurs or any level of poor vocabulary to worship Lebron’s status and consider others inferior. If you ask me who is better in the last 5 years of his NBA career, I’d say Kobe, Duncan, Garnett, Wade, Nowitzki, and Nash. After all, it is all about winning, not who can have the most highlight dunks. What we should look for here is the wins you get against the best teams, and the accomplishments of your team against stiff competition. Lebron has only been good because of weak competition in the East. Calling him the king or the next Jordan, makes him the most overrated player in NBA history, equal to Sam Bowie being picked over Michael Jordan. . | Posted by fire isiah now! on 03.25.2008 | I’ve heard this before, blah blah blah, Lebron is king, he got money, he got skills, stevenson sucks, lebron is too superior to stevenson, blah blah blah. Now, for all you SUCK UPS, stick with the topic. Lebron is very well known to be COCKY AND ARROGANT. LEBRON KNOWS THAT HE IS OVERRATED TOO. If we just be honest rather than suck up to Lebron like sucking a straw, like some of you guys here, we all know well that the MEDIA OVERRATES LEBRON JAMES. STEVENSON, YOU ARE THE MAN FOR SPEAKING THE TRUTH BABY! . . | Posted by SHADOW on 03.24.2008 | HEY TEACHER YOU CALL AS HOMOS WHEN YOU ARE THE ONE GULPING ON LEBRON’S SEMEN YOU BIG SUCK UP. BETTER BE CAREFUL YOU MIGHT GET A THROAT INFECTION. SOONER OR LATER YOUR STOMACH MIGHT PUSH YOU TO PUKE ALL OF THAT STUFF YOU HAVE SUCKED FROM LEBRON. WHAT A REAL HOMO. . | Posted by Kobe is ABOVE than Lebron on 03.24.2008 | IN A COUNTRY DIVIDED BY ARROGANCE, THOSE WITH STATUS CONTINUE TO TREAT PEOPLE LOWER THAN THEM AS IF THEY DO NOT SHARE THE VERY SAME RIGHTS THAT OUR FOUNDING FATHERS CREATED AND AMENDED BY THE US CIVIL LIBERTIES DURING KENNEDY’S ADMINISTRATION. I CONSIDER PEOPLE LIKE THE PERSON WHO CLAIMS TO BE A TEACHER AS NOT ONLY ARROGANT TO THE EXTREME BUT OUTRIGHT BARBARIC IN HIS EXEMPLARY DELIVERY OF OPINION. THIS DEBATE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH LEBRON’S SUPERIORITY, AS IF TEACHER CONSIDER HIM HIS g--LOVER, IT IS AN ISSUE ON WHETHER IS HE OVERRATED BY THE MEDIA AND FANS. AS THE UNITED STATES WONDER AND THINK OF THIS EASY QUESTION, AMERICA WILL SONNER OR LATER FETCH UP WITH A CONVINCING ANSWER THAT LEBRON IS OVERRATED, ARROGANT, AND OUTRIGHT UNPROFESSIONAL. PLEASE MY FRIENDS I APOLOGIZE FOR TEACHER AS MY FELLOW HUMAN BEING, BUT DO NOT WORRY, A PERSON OF HIS STATURE BELONGS TO A GROUP WITHOUT ANY HUMAN MORAL VALUES OR ANY LEVEL OF CIVILIZED PRINCIPLES. LET US NOT GO DOWN HIS PITIFUL LEVEL MY FRIENDS. . | Posted by Teacher on 03.24.2008 | Overrated???? whatever u homos are smoking over there please pa-------that shit...look at lebrons near triple double average versus stevensons D-league numbers....lebron is the top scorer and an MVP candidate..u guys need 2 stop watching basketball and stick to badminton . | Posted by deannba on 03.23.2008 | To lebron james is not god, i dont think any player has the right to critisize another player maybe lebron is over rated but i dont think players should talk about other peoples games. In most sports you wont hear another athlete insult another player they are both in the wrong but you cant say lebrons in the wrong and stevensons in the right because hes stickin up for himself . | Posted by KOBE RULES LA LA LAND on 03.22.2008 | What Lebron James said is pretty arrogant. I mean Kobe may be arrogant during his younger , but i am sure he will never say he is "superior" to another player. Lebron has no honor, nor any level of human principles, well at least in his statements, he didnt show it.. I am very happy that many fans are finally realizing how Lebron James is overrated. We do not want a person like that you thinks to highly of himself for our kids to see. I was really touched by Manu Ginobilii’s comments here. I think it all make sense on how nice and well bred guys are underrated while juvenile, uneducated, and cocky individuals are overrated. That is what the media feeds our children. It is absolutely absurd! . | Posted by Michael Jordan 23 on 03.22.2008 | It is not even a questio who is better, Duncan or LEbron James. It is also not debatable who is better, kobe or lebron? it is not debatable who is touger, Allen Iverson or Lebron? it should not even be discussed who is king, Michael Jordan or Lebron? Please to all media and suck ups, stop overrating cocky lebron james because are children may start copy his uncivilized and barbaric behaviors. . | Posted by The Great Disciple on 03.22.2008 | I like the two post that manu ginobiliii wrote about Tim Duncan being more mature, professional, ethical, unselfish, and a much better basketball player that Lebron. You guys should read his two post because I think we need to pay attention to Duncan, because once this is over, we will realized on how much we have overrated Lebron and not give enough attention to the best player in the NBA for the past 10 years, and is also the most accomplished, professional, and mature. Screw Lebron "Overrated" James. . | Posted by Lebron James is not God on 03.22.2008 | You mean Deannba that just because Stevenson is not a superstar like Lebron he should’nt say he is overrated? All Stevenson said is speak the truth and most of America agrees he is tremendously overhyped by the standards and quality of his accomplishments. Lebron’s Cavs are not a contender and they will not make the playoffs if they were in the West. Please respond to that please please. Also, respond to this too, the Cavs were lucky they played in the East that is why they reached the finals, because if they played in the West, they will get their a-------whooped. Also please respond to this, Stevenson did not say Lebron is no good, he just said he is overrated, what is wrong with that? You mean only people with superstar status can talk and people below have no right, since you are obviouslt trying to make as if Stevenson is inferior to your beloved Lebron. Lebron is overrated and counter that with facts, because I believe people have backed up their argument here except some of the Lebron suck ups like yourself. This is pathetic! . | Posted by German Hops Nowitzki on 03.22.2008 | hey diannba, nobody said lebron has no right 2 criticize but the debate discussed is first is he really overrated or not? second, does stevenson’s remarks are true, and third, did lebron’s remarks are legitimate? Most people here agree lebrn is overrated and he step over the line by his statements which he tries to promote his higher superstar status and talk as if stevenson has no right to say anything because he is only souljah boy and he is jay z. In this case he is obviously showing off, after all thats what immature people do. . | 1 2 3 4 5 Next > Last
