Round Three: Analyzing DeShawn Stevenson’s Latest Crack On LeBron JamesMarch 20 08  My Quick Take: Somewhere, boxing godfather Don King and wrestling promoter Vince McMahon are smiling. After all, DeShawn Stevenson and LeBron James have traded quips like prize fighters or WWE characters before a big match. For those living under a rock, Stevenson called James “overrated” after Thursday’s Wizards-Cavaliers game. On Monday, The King went hip-hop with his response, comparing his situation with Stevenson to Jay-Z beefing with Soulja Boy. Well, round three hit today. Stevenson came back hard to Washington Post insiders Michael Lee and Ivan Carter: "I hope we play Cleveland," Stevenson said. "I’m going to get Soulja Boy courtside seats and have him wear a DeShawn Stevenson jersey. Maybe (James) can have Jay-Z there since LeBron’s all on his (shorts) anyway."
Stevenson wasn’t done.
"And tell LeBron to cut that beard off and stop copying me."
These two have personal issues. Lee and Carter reported on their blog that James recently bad-mouthed Stevenson to former teammate Drew Gooden. Of course, Gooden ran James’ comments back to Stevenson, which probably contributed to the post getting traded from Cleveland to Chicago at the deadline.
Hopefully, the Wizards and Cavaliers meet in the playoffs because bad blood makes for entertaining basketball. Like I said, King and McMahon must be smiling. on 03.20.2008 | As a baller from Argentina, we have grown to admire the American greats such as Michael Jordan, Magic, and Larry. However, Lebron is a different case, because I cannot stand the way he proudly demonstrate himself in front of the media. People tend to overrate Lebron. I want to see Manu and Scola beat Lebron’s US team once again, because my country plays like a team, while Team USA, although I believe is the best team, lack the chemistry because of self centered Lebron James. . | Posted by

on 03.20.2008 | Lebron is kinda showing off by saying that he is Jay Z and he is higher than Stevenson who is Souljah Boy. I think this arrogance by Lebron will backfire on him, because many fans will turn against him. The media would probably love this, because they will profit from his arrogance. As far as what Stevenson said, he has a point. Even before Lebron averaged 30 7 and 6, he was already overrated in HS and even during his rookie year, which he should have lost it to Carmelo, because Carmelo had better stats, more wins, and his team made the playoffs. The media should stop kissing Lebron’s feet as if he is the king of all basketball. Hey Lebron, what happened against the Spurs in the FInals? . | Posted by

on 03.20.2008 | Lebron needs to shut his mouth. I have never seen a more cocky and overrated player in my generation. By reading some of the comments here and the other commentary on the previous article by Oly Sandor, it seems that real basketball fans with a fair knowledge of the game, are now realizing how overrated and arrogant this guy is. I mean they advertise him as if he won the championship, mvp, or as if he is the next Michael Jordan. This is bs out of bs. on 03.20.2008 | I did read it in the San Antonio Express when Bruce Bowen talked to Lebron about showing more respect to the staff during the USA basketball camp couple of years ago. Lebron would order people around, and not know, nor wanna know their first names. He would push people to do some of his stuff without a smile or any sense of professionalis. This is evidence enough on how cocky Lebron is. It is no surprise to me when Stevenson finally had guts to say Lebron is overrated because he has been for the past 5 years. I agree with the professor and manu ginobiliia and even Anthony that Lebron crossed the line. Regardless if you are a superstar or not, to some extent, you still gotta act like a civilized and professional human being, which Lebron did not. . | Posted by

on 03.20.2008 | Hey Anthony, Lebron did go pretty shallow by his comments, by showing off that he is superior to Stevenson as if Stevenson’s comments doesnt make sense because he is not in the same caliber as Lebron. I think Lebron is a great player, and nobody here can question that, but his arrogance and the way fans overrate him makes me sick. on 03.20.2008 | Look Jay Z, he is overrated for the simple fact that he is being worshipped as if he has accomplished enough that other players havent at his age. He is playing in a weak conference, and the Wizards are not a challenging team. As James, how his Cavs did against the Spurs in the FInals? You are obviously aming it as if Lebron deserve his dues for beating the Wiz, come on man. The definition of a great player is vast, and I agree with the guy that here that Tim Duncan is better than Lebron, because he wins, and he is much more unselfish. I would probably agree as well that Kobe is better than Lebron because he has done so mcuh as a player and is carrying the Lakers in his back with one of the best record in a very good western conference, unlike the east. You are aware Jay Z that if the Cavs were in the west, they will be either 9 or 10, meaning theyw ill not make the playoffs. I even think the Nuggets, Warriors, and Hornets can beat the Cavs in a seven game series anytime. And these are not your top true contender teams in the West. . | Posted by
