It’s pretty clear changes are coming down the pipe in Laker-land. And Kobe Bryant appears to be on his way out. But should it be this way? Should Kobe Bryant have to leave the purple-and-gold?

After all, Kobe Bryant is the Los Angeles Lakers. There’s no other way to slice it. Could you really see Kobe in another NBA uniform?

At hoopsVibe, we are presenting another option. What about keeping Bryant in L.A. and trading the entire Buss family, who own the Lakers?

That’ right- keep the all-star and trade the owner. Tell the Buss clan, all eleven of them and their random myspace pages, to take a hike.

Candidate #1: Kobe Bryant, superstar guard for the Los Angeles Lakers.

Quick Resume:

-A three time world champion.
-Considered the world’s most talented basketball player.
-A perennial all-star and member of the All-NBA team.

Reason for Trade: Bryant has requested a deal out of Los Angeles because the team hasn’t had any success in the last few seasons. He’s frustrated with the direction of the team. For what it is worth, the Lakers publicly maintain that Bryant will not be traded.

Candidate #2: Jerry Buss and his entire family, owners of the Los Angeles Lakers.

Quick Resume:

-The long-time owner of the Lakers.
-You also know him as the guy with the ’stash’ who takes the Larry O’Brien trophy from Commissioner Stern when his team wins the NBA Title.
-A rich playboy who gives his children jobs within the organization.

Reason for Trade: Laker fans believe they win NBA Titles in spite of the Buss family and not because of them. Many fans feel Buss is running the team into the ground.

I usually never comment on players and there ever ongoing desire to win or twist the owners to there whim but this time i have to speak out. First of all i have to say that its the laker fans who stuck by Kobe because he is a LAKER regardless of how he is treating the team. "Thats true laker fan not the ones that are there just when we are winning" It is distastefull the way he is carrying on i am really ashamed now that we drafted him. I stuck with him through the times when i thought he deserved to be the MVP in the playoffs over Shaq I stuck with him thru his adultery episodes. I even stick up for him when people call him a ball hog and he doesn’t know how to pass. I explain all of that away even to the point that some of my friends get angry with me. Kobe seemed to be the next real Jordan but after this i have to differ. Jordan would not air his dirt on camera to people who cant make a change in his life. He is just what people said he is and now i see that. He could never and i dont care how many points he scores and how many rings he wins and i do mean ever be Jordan. A real man has honor for his team and the colors that adorns his back. Where is Kobe’s honor in all of this? A real man sticks it out no matter what the situation is ! He changes his future from within and seizes his destiny. Thats what Jordan did and Kobe will never be that !!!! So if he wants to be traded and dont have love for the Lakers its colors the city the fans and the people who stick up for him when he cant do it. I say get out of town "NOW" dont wait for the camp to open sell your home and get out of LA. This one thing I do know I was a Laker fan before I could read but When i read my first real book about Jerry West and George Mikan i became a laker fan. I was 6yrs of age i am 41 now i was a laker fan Before Kareem and Before Magic Before Shaq and I will be a Laker Fan After Kobe so Trade him if he wants out. My mother always said dont be somewhere where you dont want to be you just make it hard for the ones that want to "BE" !!!! Im in Nashville Tn I don’t want anyone to think that I must be in La to talk like this and for Kobe to understand that Laker fans are everywhere!!!!!!! LAKER FOR LIFE !!!!!!!!!!!! .

Trade Kobe? You fools must be out of your %&*#@ minds... Give the Buss family and Kupchak to the damn wolves man, who cares about them. We got Kobe, Phil, and Kareem. And we better keep Luke!! Seriously though.. The man can score over 50 points in a game and the team STILL loses?! The Lakers are absolutely being run into the ground AND wasting the NBA’s greatest talent. Screw the lame a-------rumors of Kobe’s off-court antics.. It’s all BS just like the Colorado thing. Make a smart trade (Kidd, anyone?) and let’s get another damn trophy! .

whoops people have forgotten kobe didnt win any championships dude shot 36 percent 42 percent and shuq did leave because of kobe shaq shoots anywhere between 50 and 60 percent he wanted the ball he stated that several times and it frustrated shaq to have kobe shoot him out of games .

All you peeps that still think there’s a chance Kobe will stay with the Lakers: Wake Up! Kobe’s mind is made up - he wants out - and we all know that what Kobe wants, Kobe gets. Let’s start thinking about locking-up Odom and Bynum long-term and go shopping for a good point guard and a Ray Allen, Wade, McGrady, Michael Redd, or any other player in this category who can do 90% of what Kobe can do. We may not have the flare, the 60+ point-games, but we might get back past the first round of the playoffs. .

I have followed the Lakers since the West era and have to say that I am a huge Kobe fan and have defended his off court antics for years. I live in OC (same as Kobe) and have heard horrible stories of him treating people like crap. I am now going on the record to say that Kobe is a wonderful athlete but off the court a immature man that only respects himself and not others. He may have won us 3 chamionships but I also think he could be the anti-christ for the organization. The Buss family has a longer history of sucsess and has supported and bailed you out in tight situations. Kobe show some respect. Kobe, one day when your retired I wonder if you will look in the mirror and wish you were not such a jerk. Sorry, Buss family, Shaq, Kobes wife, Kobes Dad, etc. all of whom he has disrespected at some point in his life. Who is next! .

keep kobe. he is the 2nd best player of all time behind MJ. he doesnt deserve to leave the lakers. the buss family does. they had many opportuities to get him much needed help. no disrespect to any of the lakers players but he needs more than lamar and brown. lakers had many chances to get players like baron davis, j kidd and ron artest and jermaine Oneal but did not close one deal. AND IT WASNT KOBES FAULT SHAQ LEFT!!!!!!! it was the buss and kupchack fault. YEA TRADE BOTHE FAMILIES. .

Something needs to happen. Of course, Kobe will be the one traded, but in an ideal world, it would be awesome to get rid of the Buss ownership of the Lakers, and get rid of Kupchack (sp?) while we’re at it. Get an owner who has the bankrolls to get some high profile players in and get a gm (Jerry West) who can actually make the deals. Is Kupchack really going to go down in history as the dude who traded away both Shaq and Kobe? LOL .

I place blame on booth parties.The owners for making horrible decisions-Like letting butler go for Brown and what a beutiful contract you gave Kobe-No trade clause that was Smart. Like trading shaq. You could have let Kobe go then and put any other Good gaurd with shaq and produced a ring-just like Miami. Kobe as good as he is he still does not have the fudamentals and the leadership qualities as a team player-Case in point Labron james-Yes he should have took over two of those games-But guess what he was a leader the whole playoffs and earned the respect of the whole basket ball world-Kobe not so much-His parents taught him to be the best at all cost and thats what he has done-Listen to robert horry’s veiw on the Lakers-he said certain people(KOBE) forgot about the other players that helped him win those titles.Kobe will always be about Kobe no matter where he goes-He forces himself to play team ball-It doesnt come naturally-like you see in Labron-KG-Iverson even plays team ball(no pun intended)Wade........Kobe watched JORDAN’S moves and Determination-he didnt watch his basketball qaulities-LEADERSHIP-How to motivate his team..........You never herd jordan crying about he needs new players-if he did we never herd about it...............KOBE will be traded to bulls(bad move since mike played there now you will really never live up to MIKE)for BEN GORDAN,TYRUS THOMAS, and NOCIONI(How ever you spell it) and still might try to land J.
