It’s pretty clear changes are coming down the pipe in Laker-land. And Kobe Bryant appears to be on his way out. But should it be this way? Should Kobe Bryant have to leave the purple-and-gold?

After all, Kobe Bryant is the Los Angeles Lakers. There’s no other way to slice it. Could you really see Kobe in another NBA uniform?

At hoopsVibe, we are presenting another option. What about keeping Bryant in L.A. and trading the entire Buss family, who own the Lakers?

That’ right- keep the all-star and trade the owner. Tell the Buss clan, all eleven of them and their random myspace pages, to take a hike.

Candidate #1: Kobe Bryant, superstar guard for the Los Angeles Lakers.

Quick Resume:

-A three time world champion.
-Considered the world’s most talented basketball player.
-A perennial all-star and member of the All-NBA team.

Reason for Trade: Bryant has requested a deal out of Los Angeles because the team hasn’t had any success in the last few seasons. He’s frustrated with the direction of the team. For what it is worth, the Lakers publicly maintain that Bryant will not be traded.

Candidate #2: Jerry Buss and his entire family, owners of the Los Angeles Lakers.

Quick Resume:

-The long-time owner of the Lakers.
-You also know him as the guy with the ’stash’ who takes the Larry O’Brien trophy from Commissioner Stern when his team wins the NBA Title.
-A rich playboy who gives his children jobs within the organization.

Reason for Trade: Laker fans believe they win NBA Titles in spite of the Buss family and not because of them. Many fans feel Buss is running the team into the ground.

on 06.18.2007		 I place blame on booth parties.The owners for making horrible decisions-Like letting butler go for Brown and what a beutiful contract you gave Kobe-No trade clause that was Smart. Like trading shaq. You could have let Kobe go then and put any other Good gaurd with shaq and produced a ring-just like Miami. Kobe as good as he is he still does not have the fudamentals and the leadership qualities as a team player-Case in point Labron james-Yes he should have took over two of those games-But guess what he was a leader the whole playoffs and earned the respect of the whole basket ball world-Kobe not so much-His parents taught him to be the best at all cost and thats what he has done-Listen to robert horry’s veiw on the Lakers-he said certain people(KOBE) forgot about the other players that helped him win those titles.Kobe will always be about Kobe no matter where he goes-He forces himself to play team ball-It doesnt come naturally-like you see in Labron-KG-Iverson even plays team ball(no pun intended)Wade........Kobe watched JORDAN’S moves and Determination-he didnt watch his basketball qaulities-LEADERSHIP-How to motivate his team..........You never herd jordan crying about he needs new players-if he did we never herd about it...............KOBE will be traded to bulls(bad move since mike played there now you will really never live up to MIKE)for BEN GORDAN,TYRUS THOMAS, and NOCIONI(How ever you spell it) and still might try to land J. ONEAL, I think it’s a good look with or without J.O-with Odam still there, So lets make it happen I am a LAKER Fan Not a Kobe-Shaq........Fan If you put on a Laker Uni. You are good with me, BUT If you wan to leave PEACE! Holla wish you the best, Cause the Lakers will always Draw in big Talent. .

CLUELESS, NO IDEA ON WHAT HE IS TALKING ABOUT , a loser on every step of his life. what ever he did a failure. Jerry should jsu make a trustfund for this kid and let jennie take over! .

on 06.17.2007		 I’m a Kobe-hater, I admit, however he has been the best player on the court in the last couple of years, good ownership can turn a team around (Gund- Cavaliers, Cuban- Dallas and Maloof- SacTown) Trade the Buss family and make sure a capable person is going to run the franchise .

Unfortunatly that is what Jerry and Jimmy buss are becoming. so before they fk it up beyond repair they need to get basketball poeple back in the front office and let the people who for whom basketball is a way of life run things and find other hobbies. I’m not saying they have to sell the team i’m just saying jerry and jimmy should just write checks and leave the basketball decisions up to qualified basketball people .

on 06.17.2007		 trade kobe. he aint gonna win in the west. the west is too damn strong. imagine if the clippers, twolves or warriors are in the east, they would win more. plus if a player, especially kobe, is acting like a spoiled brat, you should trade him. his game is sick, but remember he was like the one who dismantled the dynasty in making. trade him for a player with like equal value or the lakers should rebuild. .

on 06.17.2007		 trade kobe to the east, he aint gonna win in the west if the team he will go to wont have the talent. yeah players get frustrated, but they should not throw tantrums like that. kobe has got superstar talent, but his attitude sucks. just rebuild with the lakers.. the lakers got bynum, so trade kobe for some young guys with great potential and make the right decisions. who knows in the future the lakers will dominate with a young squad, especially that the west are filled with old vetarans. plus kobe wont win in the west with the spurs, suns, mavs, rockets, jazz, warriors and nuggets around.. .

on 06.17.2007		 yo i love kobe....but im getting tired of all the bitching....just let trade him.....from what i hear he want to go to either the suns, bulls or the knicks.....i sure as hell wouldnt trade him to the suns but that might be the only team that can give u anything close to "equal value" as far as players.....i think at this point both sides are better to part ways. .
