(Basketball News) - Minnesota will be playing the back end of a brutal back- to-back night stretch this evening, when it takes on Detroit at the Palace of Auburn Hills.
The Timberwolves registered a 108-97 victory over Shaquille O’Neal and the Miami Heat on Tuesday night at Target Center. Kevin Garnett posted 25 points, 21 rebounds and eight assists in the winning effort.
Garnett, who has led Minnesota in scoring and rebounding in each of the first six games, surpassed the 14,000-point career mark.
Wally Szczerbiak scored 21 points and Sam Cassell added 19 for the Timberwolves, who have captured three of their last four games. Troy Hudson chipped in 12 points in 16 minutes during the victory.
Minnesota has split its first two road tilts this season.
The T’Wolves swept Detroit last season and has won 11 of the last 13 meetings overall. Minnesota has taken four of its last six trips to Detroit.
