Rumor: Grizzlies and Magic asking about Chris Paul?

The Magic are one of the teams that have inquired about the availability of Chris Paul, according to a league source.

The Hornets are unlikely to move Paul, who has two seasons left on his deal for a combined total of $31.3 million with a player option for the 2012-13 campaign worth $17.7 million.

HoopsVibe’s Very Quick Call: Where there’s smoke, there’s fire.
The New Orleans Hornets will have to consider moving Chris Paul because they lack the resources to provide a supporting cast. If they can’t compete, Paul bolts as an unrestricted free agent and the team gets nothing back.
So, the Hornets have no choice but to make a trade. There’s no time like the present because the table-setter’s market value falls if he has an injury plagued 2011.
Also, Darren Collison is waiting. The UCLA grad impressed when filling in for Paul last year and has several seasons left on an inexpensive rookie contract, which suits small market New Orleans.
Recently, reports have surfaced that the Memphis Grizzlies and Orlando Magic have made calls asking about Paul’s availability. Expect these reports to continue. And a trade will eventually happen.
