HoopsVibe’s Very Quick Call: David Lee has taken a step backwards with this sign-and-trade, which is sad when you consider he has spent his entire career with the lowly New York Knicks.

The Golden State Warriors, his new team, have talent. In fact, they’ve got loads of it.

Problem is, Don Nelson, the mad-scientist sideline boss, and Chris Cohan, the club’s tyrannical tyrant of an owner, are running the Warriors like a third world banana republic (no offence to developing nations).

Together, Nelson and Cohan have alienated several players, including youngsters Monta Ellis and Andris Biedrins.

It won’t be any different for Lee. Initially, Nelson and the post will be bosom buddies, the apple of the coach`s eye. Perhaps, they`ll even golf together -like the old man and friend turned foe Al Harrington.

However, a minor issue will occur, and Nellie will blow it out of proportion like a miffed teenage girl who obsesses over Twilight. And Cohan will predictably back Nelson.

Best case scenario: Cohan sells the team and Nelson is given his walking papers by the new owners.
