Krstic ‘regretful’ for going chair-crazy in Greece-Serbia brawl

Thunder center Nenad Krstic has spoken with general manager Sam Presti in the wake of his role in an on-court brawl in Athens, Greece earlier this week.

Krstic lost control of his emotions when tempers flared between his Serbian team and the Greeks. He punched Greece’s Sofoklis Schortsanitis several times in the back of the head and then retreated only to grab a chair and throw it at Schortsanitis. Presti said Krstic "recognizes this is an unfortunate situation. He’s regretful."

HoopsVibe’s Very Quick Call: I’m guessing Nenad Krstic has probably learned his lesson.

Consider his last few days: he’s a youtube sensation –and not in a good way; he’s spent a night in a Greek jail for breaking the country’s ‘violence in sport law’; and his professional reputation with the Oklahoma City Thunder has taken a serious hit.

By now, you’ve seen video of the Serbia-Greece bench-clearing brawl, where Krstic made like a WWE manager and smacked opponents viciously with a chair.

Today, Thunder executive Sam Presti worked a little damage control on behalf of his starting post, saying ‘he’s regretful’.

Well, it’s a good start. There’s more work to do, though.
