LeBron on Chris Bosh: he’s ‘the most important player on our team’
He hasn’t heard the MVP chant in Miami while standing at the free-throw line, unlike LeBron James and Dwyane Wade and Joel Anthony (!), but since the beginning of this first-round series, Chris Bosh has been the best player in a Miami uniform. LeBron wants to take that designation a step further. “Chris is the most important player on our team,” he said.
HoopsVibe’s Very Quick Call: Not the best. Not the second best. But most important.
This is the way Miami Heat superstar LeBron James describes teammate Chris Bosh. Bosh’s play will determine how far South Beach goes in the playoffs.
If Bosh is only good, then the Heat will struggle in the later rounds. If Bosh is great, then the Heat will likely get past the Boston Celtics and Chicago Bulls in the Eastern Conference, and challenge the Western Conference champion.
So how can Bosh be great?
First, he can continue logging minutes at center, which allows the Heat to have two shooters on the floor and use James as a do-everything power forward.
Second, Coach Erik Spoelstra needs to keep feeding Bosh. Like most players, he plays better with increased touches.
A good not great Bosh could be the difference between the Heat winning and losing an NBA Title.
