Report: No CBA, Owners and Players meeting Thursday
Progress was made on three of the five key system issues, Yahoo’s Adrian Wojnarowski tweeted. At their press conferences, both sides played down potential progress. Whatever happened, it was enough that NBA commissioner David Stern did not institute his threatened “rollback offer,” something that would set talks way back if not doom the season.
HoopsVibe’s Very Quick Call: No rollback. No decertification. And they’ll talk Thursday.
Wednesday’s meeting went well enough that owners and players agreed to talk again in less than twelve hours and will hopefully finalize a new Collective Bargaining Agreement.
The owners have held off of their rollback offer even though their deadline has passed, while the players have shelfed all talk of decertifying their union.
All this is good. It just needs to translate into a new CBA and a season.
