Orlando Magic waive Gilbert Arenas
The Orlando Magic have waived guard Gilbert Arenas and designated him as the team’s amnesty player, President of Basketball Operations/General Manager Otis Smith announced today.

Not surprisingly, the Orlando Magic used the amnesty clause in the new Collective Bargaining Agreement to waive combo guard Gilbert Arenas and get out from the remaining three years and $60 million on his contract.
Arenas, who was acquired last December from the Washington Wizards in exchange for Rashard Lewis, never found his scoring touch and consistent minutes with the Magic.
In fact, knee injuries robbed Arenas of his explosiveness, and it remains to be seen if he can ever recover his past form.
