Bone Sticks Out Of Davis’ Knee
Baron Davis likely ends his career with this horrifying knee injury.
HoopsVibe’s Very Quick Call: Don’t watch if you’re squeamish.
This is likely the end of the bearded one’s career. Baron Davis suffered one of the most gruesome looking knee injuries ever Sunday afternoon in Game 4 of the Knicks vs. Heat series. Davis was on a fast break when he tried to do a little misdirection, but the only thing that got misdirected was his right knee. You can literally see the bone sticking out of place in his knee. As soon as the injury happens you can see Davis reach down to touch his knee and feel the bone sticking out.
Davis is a veteran of the NBA in the midst of his 17th season in the league. He’s plaid all over the place, but mostly in the Western Conference and is probably most associated with his time in New Orleans and Golden State. Davis averaged 16 points and 7 assists per game over his career. He came to New York this season after doing a stint in Cleveland last year as was expected to be a veteran backup point guard. No official word yet as to the severity of this injury, but if pictures are worth a thousand words, this pictures says retirement.
