Dwight Howard and Kobe Bryant Fight in Locker Room.

Dwight Howard and Kobe Bryant almost come to blows in the locker room.

HoopsVibe’s Very Quick Call: Now this is a fight I’d love to see go into the UFC octogon. My money’s on Howard in the first round.

Dwight Howard and Kobe Bryant Fight in Locker Room.

It’s no secret that the Los Angeles Lakers are in the midst of a disappointing season. Apparently, that frustration finally boiled over. Coming off their third straight loss, Bryant and Howard got into it yesterday. Bryant apparently accused Howard of being “soft” and referencing his winning ways with Shaq. The exchange was described as “heated” and “close to blows” by Lakers insiders.

It’s no secret that Howard and Bryant have had trouble fitting their styles together. Mike Brown learned that the hard way after getting canned just five games into the season. This was a season that was supposed to be easy for the Lakers.

With the off-season acquisitions of point guard Steve Nash and big man Dwight Howard, Laker Nation was envisioning another championship banner. People were even talking about the Chicago Bulls single season winning record to fall. This was set to be an unstoppable team. Well, they’ve yet to break the .500 mark and currently stand at 15-18, 3 games out of even making the playoffs.

If the NBA season doesn’t workout, I’m voting for a Howard vs. Bryant UFC brawl with all proceeds going to the Orlando Magic.
