Miami Fan Sues Popovich And Spurs For Sitting Star Players Last Month
A Miami Heat fan files suit against the Spurs and coach Popovich for sitting his 3 star players.
HoopsVibe’s Very Quick Call: I hope to one day be rich enough to be this much of an asshole and not realize it.
The saying reality is stranger than fiction could definitely apply to this one. If you remember back when Spurs coach Gregg Popovich sat his three star players David Stern was upset. Stern apparently didn’t like the idea of the Spurs not playing Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, and Manu Ginobili for a nationally televised game. Stern handed down unequivocally the most idiotic fine in the history of organized sports ($250,000), sports analysts all scratched their heads with how stupid this made Stern look, and the world moved on.
Not so fast sports fans. Apparently a fan in Miami is proving he is just as ridiculous as David Stern and aim to prove his point in Miami-Dade County court where he filed a lawsuit against the Spurs and head coach Gregg Popovich for sitting his players. Larry McGuinness filed the class action suit claiming Gregg Popovich, “intentionally and surreptitiously” sent their best players home without the knowledge of the league, the team and the fans attending the Nov. 29 game against the Heat. McGuinness contends that he, as well as other fans, “suffered economic damages” as a result of paying a premium price for a ticket that shouldn’t cost as much.
McGuinness goes on to paint a pretty analogy for us to drive home is idiotic point. “It was like going to Morton’s Steakhouse and paying $63 for porterhouse and they bring out cube steak. That’s exactly what happened.”
First, McGuinness you are a douche bag. Only a rich pompous ass would even think of such an idea and then reference Morton’s Steakhouse and $63 dollar steaks. Second, that San Antonio cube steak almost beat your porterhouse as the Spurs nearly pulled out a win. Third, you’re an asshole. And fourth, you’re an asshole. Did we mention you’re an asshole? Well, you are.
I think that just about sums this one up.
