Metta World Peace Punches Brandon Knight.

Metta World Peace punches the Piston’s Brandon Knight.

HoopsVibe’s Very Quick Call: It wasn’t a knockout punch, but it was a little dirty boxing.

You can change your name from Ron Artest to Metta World Peace or anything other magnanimous set of words, but it doesn’t change how you play the game. MWP has always been known as a tough physical player and no one will ever forget his two infamous violent incidents in the NBA. One took place last season when he threw a vicious elbow to the head of James Harden and the other being when MWP charged into the crowd fighting fans back when he was a Piston.

The truth is MWP is not always dealing with a full deck of cards. Anyone who thanks their psychologist when they win a national championship is acknowledging he’s got some mental issues. MWP’s violence continued this week when he decided to take Brandon Knight into the world of UFC.

MWP goes with a little behind he back neck hold followed by an uppercut. Lucky for the much smaller and lighter Knight he’s able to escape MWP before he went in for the submission or knockout. As soon as MWP retires from basketball you better believe either UFC or Pride are going to have a spot for him. I’d love to see MWP choke someone out in the octagon just not on the hardwood. Check out the video and see for yourself.
