Kevin Love Admits He Could Be Done.
Kevin Love’s season hinges on the results of a CT Scan.
HoopsVibe’s Very Quick Call: Some guys just can’t seem to stay healthy. Where’s the love for Love?
To say the Timberwolves and Kevin Love haven’t had the 2012-2013 season they had been expecting is like saying Blake Griffin kind of likes to dunk. Love’s season may be coming to an ealry end this week if doctors tell the power forward the bones in his foot still haven’t healed.
“If the doctor says another week to 10 days or something like that, who knows?” Love said on Sunday. “I’d like to come back, but I know not playing (the rest of the season) has crossed the minds of other people, whether it’s (Wolves president of basketball operations Kahn) David, Glen (Wolves owner Taylor) or coach (Rick Adelman).”
The TWolves are essentially inept without Love and not much of a threat to anyone in the Western Conference without their star player. The bigger picture has got to be the future of the franchise that has relied heavily on Kevin Love. Can he stay healthy? Everyone is examining his health and ability to stay healthy closely.
“That will go away in a couple of months,” Love said of the scar tissue. “I have full range of motion in my hand and my shooting is better. After the first time, my hand never really felt right. I’m fortunate it’s back to where it was (before the surgery). Even at 80 to 90 percent, it feels good.”
“My mind is in a better place about it,” Love said. “It’s been tough for everybody involved, including myself. It hasn’t been the year we wanted it to be. A lot of it has been due to injuries. I have myself to blame, but injuries happen. This is my fifth year in the league and I hope to play 10-plus years after this.”
